FAQ

  • Can anyone stay at Amiglia?

Amiglia seeks to be open to everyone and encourages openness among all who come. According to our philosophy, the other is, in fact, who we are ourselves.
Everyone is welcome to stay at Amiglia for one week. For those wishing to stay longer, we have a conversation to see if there is a good match. If someone truly does not fit the living atmosphere at Amiglia, we may ask them to continue their journey elsewhere.

  • What is meant by 'donation suggestion'?

To help Amiglia grow and thrive, funding is needed. We aim for a mix of guests who come to recharge or work on themselves, and those who come to contribute a few hours of work each day. The suggested donation is what we need to keep Amiglia running, and any additional contributions are welcome to further develop the project.
People with professional skills can also stay without making a financial contribution after the initial trial week, as long as it aligns with what needs to be done at that time.

  • Food. What kind of meals are served at Amiglia?

At Amiglia, we value an open-minded approach, also wehen it comes to eating. We don’t judge any diet, but as a baseline, we choose to cook vegetarian meals - three a day - and use organic products whenever available. Upon request, we can accommodate those who prefer vegan and/or gluten-free options.

  • Wifi or wifi-free?

There is wifi in a limited zone of Amiglia, and it is switched off entirely during the night (23pm until after the morning practice). We can also lend Amiglia’s smartphone if you want to use its hotspot where there is no wifi.

  • Is this a place for workation, digital nomads, artists/writers in residence?

Definitely. It’s one of the reasons we provide good wifi. We plan to make an open office for those who want to work in silence together - for now you can use the living room, or your own room. We also have workshop space for those who want to work their visual arts.

  • Is the morning practice obligatory?

Amiglia doesn’t want to impose things upon anyone, but the morning practice is just part of living at Amiglia. If you feel you really don’t want to do this, this place is probably not what you are looking for.

  • Are children welcome at Amiglia?

Amiglia is not specifically geared towards families with children, but they are not excluded either. We welcome a single parent with a child, a young couple with a baby … and during the summer, we may also organize a week specifically for parents with children.
