Amiglia is Born

Dear friends, dear new community of friends of Amiglia,

What a pleasure it is to write these words. We have begun, and we are delighted. We are amazed and feel privileged and rich to be here, even though we are just at the beginning of everything that can be done. We want to embrace this place as a work of art in progress and savor every moment of it.

Last week, the idraulico (the plumber) was busy renewing the heating system of the main house. I’ve been speaking with three different muratori (contractors) to plan how we will create the group room. We've been cleaning and arranging rooms, and today we started painting the living room. At the moment, we are still co-living with Mauro, the previous owner. This arrangement, which we made for one month, allows us to begin sooner while giving him some extra time to move out. We live in very different worlds, but they blend together smoothly. There is enough space for us not to disturb each other, and we enjoy our little chats and express our appreciation whenever our paths cross.

What does Amiglia have to offer you?
You can come to Amiglia for many reasons: to join the daily morning practice and simply enjoy being here, to be part of the community for a while, to work remotely in a nurturing environment, to connect with yourself and others, or to participate in one of the special weeks.

What has this place done for me in the ten days since we arrived? I have gained so much life force. The air, the space, the light, the physical work, the feeling of coming home, the sea nearby... I’m not entirely sure what it is, but it’s wonderful to feel myself rejuvenating. I am so grateful to feel this is truly a good place to be.

Here are some pictures from our first ten days here.

Next week, I will be adding some details to the website. Meanwhile, feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Welcome to Amiglia!

Much love,
Zoe
